Learners shine at Braille Cup

The SANCB was alive with excitement as 87 learners from 15 special schools gathered for our 2025 Braille Cup Competition.

This annual two-day event celebrates braille literacy, giving learners from Grades 4 to 11 a chance to showcase their reading, spelling and presentation skills.

It was inspiring to see top achievers emerging from different schools. Khanyisa Special School produced winners in both the Intermediate and Senior Phases, while Filadelfia Special School won the FET Phase.

However, it was Prinshof School for the Blind that earned the coveted title of Overall Winner!

The SANCB sponsored brilliant prizes, including tablets and accessibility gadgets, along with braille chess sets for individual winners.

Thank you one and all for supporting braille literacy at school. It’s the foundation of literacy for every blind child!
